RECOGNITION CHECK LIST

Ex Government Department Minors had one or more of the following deviations from standard.

  • The year registration letter can be from L onwards.

  • Data plates attached under the bonnet on the bulkhead or on the glove locker

  • No overriders on front bumpers and possibly holes on valance where badges were fitted. Also holes in rear doors where badges used to be.

  • Radiator grille and road wheels painted in body colour.

  • Low compression engine. This,together with the clutch and gearbox is sometimes painted duck egg blue having been overhauled. There may also be a REME Workshop plate attached.

  • Ex BAOR vehicles sometimes had rectangular reflectors under the rear bumpers.

  • Moulded rubber mat on floor instead of carpet. Also no floor covering or side trim panels in boot.

  • Plain door panels and no armrests on rear passenger side trim.

  • Evidence of modifications to front seats and controls (DHSS disabled)

  • Fire extinguisher holder (usually front nearside scuttle).

  • Non-standard paint colours: Bronze green(BSC 224), Blue/Grey(BSC633)
